Mobile is changing many industries, including our own, and the sex industry is no different.

The Economist have previously studied the ways technology is shaking up the world’s oldest profession, in their cover story last August.

In a recent piece on Slate, Jordan Weissmann interviews Professor Scott Peppet from the University of Colorado Law School, who wrote a paper in 2013 called “Prostitution 3.0?”.

His paper said that state laws banning the promotion or advancement of prostitution has stopped entrepreneurs pushing the sex industry forward with new technologies that would make the lives of sex workers safer.

Weissman asks about the state of the sex industry in 2015, and the affect the government has had on stopping innovation in the business.
