FROM THE WEB: Tinder Is Fastest Growing App In Store

Tinder

A recent article by VentureBeat uses data from SimilarWeb to show the current high-climbers in the mobile app world.

The analysis, revealed in its VB App Engagement Index Report, shows that dating app Tinder was the “top gainer” in app store rankings over the past 30 days.

The article says: “Tinder is now installed on almost 3% of smartphones in the U.S., and almost 1% of smartphone owners in the U.S. use it daily for almost two minutes in about eight brief checks per day.”

The analysis also looks at this month’s social app winners and losers.

Pinterest and Tumblr take the top spots in terms of raw user numbers.

However, Facebook remains the overall winner, with an installation rate of 70% on Android smartphones in the US last month.

Facebook also remains as the top free app on Android, and the fourth-highest free app on iOS.

VentureBeat recently published its first index report, providing a free monthly update about app rankings.

The report uses data from SimilarWeb, and has a greater focus on levels of user engagement, as opposed to looking only at download rates.
