OurTime and 50more are both positioned to take advantage of the seniors market, as the interest in online dating among older generations continues to grow.

Pew Research recently said that online dating market penetration among 55 to 64-year-olds doubled between 2013 and 2015, whereas Ipsos said the percentage of older people interested in trying online dating rose from 29% to 46% over the same period.

“In America the over-50s will shortly account for 70% of disposable income, according to a forecast by Nielsen, a market-research organisation.

“Global spending by households headed by over-60s could amount to $15tn by 2020, twice as much as in 2010, predicts Euromonitor, another market-research outfit.”
