This Guide Reveals How To Build A Slack-Style ‘Magic Link’ Passwordless Login System

When you sign in to online team communication platform Slack on mobile, it uses a clever tool that means you don’t have to input your password.

Slack’s “magic link” login sends a special link to your email, then prompts you to open your mail app, where you click the magic link and are quickly signed into the app.

Slack users can do this to sign in on mobile instead of having to remember their password and type it in.

And a recent blog post on authO gives step-by-step instructions on how to implement this kind of “magic link” login strategy on iOS, which author Sebastián Peyrott says is “one of the most convenient passwordless login strategies.”
