This is a republished post from earlier in the year.
Facebook has recently made a simple change to its login opening screen, which has resulted in a huge rise in the number of people using the social network to log in to other apps.
Now, when a user is redirected to the social network when using an app, the login screen reads “Continue as [first name]”, which according to Facebook has increased new logins by millions each month.
Business Insider journalist Jillian D’Onfro spoke to Facebook’s VP of Platform, Deb Liu about how this small re-design helped to boost the number of new logins to the network.
And when discussing why apps like their users to login through Facebook, Liu mentioned hyperlocal dating app Happn as an example of just how successful the integration can be.
According to Liu, Happn said it increased its conversion rates by “nearly 90%” after adding the Facebook login option to the app.
Happn now boasts 10 million registered users, and see 4m active users every month.
