Wow Air Create Tinder Profiles To Promote New Routes
With its forthcoming IPO, The Match Group is increasingly looking to expand Tinder’s advertising platform, and the app has seen a number of campaigns from top brands since the platform launched earlier this year.
The latest brand to use the dating app to advertise is Iceland-based budget airline Wow Air, which is using the app to advertise its new flights to Canada.
The airline is launching new flight routes from Canadian cities Montreal and Toronto to Reykjavik in May next year, and has created a Tinder profile to help spread the word.
The company’s account is currently operating in Montreal, and is matching with other users to “flirt” and entice potential customers.

Wow is also giving away free tickets to a few lucky users who swipe right on the profile, and is also using Snapchat to engage with even more people.
Earlier this year, fashion brand Calvin Klein took to Tinder as part of its #mycalvins campaign, posting videos and images for Tinder users to engage with.
Other brands that have used the app to advertise include fast food giant McDonald’s, Cadbury and iOS game Fallout Shelter.
