LinkedIn have released a redesigned mobile app, to keep you up to date with your connections.
Connected is a reimagining of last year’s LinkedIn Contacts, which brought all your contacts from your address books, email accounts and calendars together into your LinkedIn network.
LinkedIn Connected uses a card-based approach, letting users swipe through milestones and updates such as new profile information, job changes and other anniversaries.
It will also invite you to follow up with people you’ve just had a meeting with, or those you’ve recently connected with.
You can swipe away updates that don’t interest you, and respond to those that do privately or publicly – with a Facebook-style like or comment.
The app will also give you calendar reminders before meetings, and pull up key information about that person, to give you context before you meet.
LinkedIn said they added these new features to the app because most users check the networking site between 6-10am to look at updates, and find out information about people they are meeting that day.
In a blog post, LinkedIn’s group production manager David Brubacher said:
“We know relationships matter to you because in an average week there are more than nine million comments, likes and congratulations posted across LinkedIn for updates like job changes, birthdays, being mentioned in the news and work anniversaries.
“Reach out when people in your network hit important milestones and you can see some pretty incredible dividends.”
Connected is available now on iOS, and will be released on Android soon.
