German Group Mobile Trend Moves Into Dating Market With Flirtwiese

Germany company Mobile Trend GmBH has expanded into the online dating sector for the first time with new social networking app, Flirtwiese.

The new app is an extension of Flirtwiese’s website and aims to connect young sophisticated European singles.

Mobile Trend is based in Hamburg, Germany and was founded by Christoph Matthiesen and Jannis Kiesow in 2010.

The digital entertainment provider has so far created and developed their own mobile portals in the gaming (Xmobb) and payment (mobpay) spaces, for both mainstream and adult businesses.

The company said after four years successfully promoting these mobile products across Europe, they wanted to expand into the online dating sector.

Flirtwiese is a location-based app, whose main function, The Flirtradar, lets users search for other nearby singles, even when they are not online.

The app also lets users browse an unlimited number of user profiles for free, chat with people and send gifts to their favourite matches.

Regarding monetisation, users are able to buy credits to use extra features – such as stickers – which are available for purchase via PayPal or through the App Store.

Users can also buy a premium membership, which gives them free use of all the app’s services, along with premium chat features and improved visibility for their personal profiles.

It also gives users the power to see who has visited their profiles, and can visit other users’ profiles without them being informed.

The app just won approval from Apple and is now available on the App Store, and has seen almost 1,000 users sign up every day since launch.

Although the app has had an early surge in users, the co-founder of Mobile Trend, Christoph Matthiesen, said they have a long way to go before they reach their goals:

“We know that we still have a lot of work to do if we want to become one of the best and number one dating portals in Germany. The most important thing is that we believe in our product, and will continue to develop easier and better features on our application, and for the web version.

“Our main objective is to ensure we give our users the best possible user experience.”

Should the app reach its initial goals, they will then consider launching an Android version, and look to expand Flirtwiese’s reach across German speaking countries including Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
