Rebranded App Swoon Courts New Audience

Dating app Swoon has returned with a new style and features directed towards a female audience.

The new colour scheme and interface, along with functions such as “Look Back”, are part of a rebranding designed to attract more women to use the app.

Swoon has been created for women, by women, and wants to rival apps such as Tinder by making itself attractive to female users.

The app, much like Tinder, is centered around a picture swiping function, where if both users like each other they are put in contact via a chat.

One main difference is that users can use a function called “Look Back”, which allows them to to bring back profiles that were accidentally or regrettably discarded.

To do this, the user simply shakes their phone and the profile reappears.

Swoon is also planning on installing a feature that will allow female users to share a profile via text – so they can receive advice and thoughts from their friends, Mashable reports.

The app has also been relaunched with a design that includes a new chat interface and a scrolling photo carousel.

Swoon wants to cater to a slightly older and more professional audience than apps like Tinder – members have to be 21 to sign up, and the company say the average age of their members is 27.
