Bristlr, “the social beard network” has announced that its beard ratios are skewed, but not in the way you might expect.
The “Tinder for Beards” is dealing with a short supply of available bearded singles, while the demand from people looking for a date with a bearded partner is growing.
By looking at the site’s user base, Bristlr found that for every 10 people with good beards, there are 19 people looking to find a bearded other half.
Bristlr CMO Stephanie Wedderburn said: “As one of our users put it… lots of people just want “a man with a good beard
“We’re experiencing a huge demand for more bearded men here in the UK, in Brazil, the US, Spain, Germany, and even China! We often get personal requests from women asking us to bring more bearded men to their area.”
Since its launch in October 2014 by John Kershaw, Bristlr has gained an impressive following around the world.
At last count, the app has 90,000 users worldwide and has made over 300,000 matches.
Bristlr said: “If you’re sporting a nice bit of facial rough or are thinking of letting it grow, now’s the time to get on Bristlr and help them quash this (somewhat surprising) world facial fur shortage!”
In April, Bristlr launched a Lothario Detector, which lets users know when a message they receive has been sent to a whole host of other singles.
