Durex is working with a mobile dating CEO to develop a new digital technology division of the sex brand.
The condom company has enlisted the help of Susie Lee, the CEO of Siren Mobile, a dating app launched last year that seeks to give women control of the dating game.
Durex are launching Durexlabs, their first step into the digital marketplace that will develop a series of products in 2015 which will harness technology to help couples in the bedroom.
The first product is a piece of technology designed to “help users achieve an orgasm”.
The product was signed in partnership with tech entrepreneur Susie Lee, who also has expertise as a biochemist, biophysicist and visual artist.
Lee said: “Through the proliferation of smart phones, social media and dating apps, technology has proven a hugely successful medium in bringing people together and maintaining close relationships.
“With Durexlabs we are taking the next vital step by embracing technology to amplify human connection in the bedroom and improve our sex lives.”
While specifics about the actual product, which is said to use mobile technology, are scant at this stage, Richard Arnold, Head of Research and Development at Durex, said: “We took inspiration from modern habits and our ever growing reliance on portable technology for virtually everything in day to day life and our market research has identified a genuine desire for this technology in our sex lives.”
And Durex are looking for people around the world to be beta testers for the product, which you can find more about here.
