eHarmony Moving From Santa Monica Headquarters

eharmony

eHarmony is moving its headquarters from Santa Monica to Westwood, Los Angeles.

The online dating company will soon leave their current base on Colorado Avenue, to take up space on 10900 Wilshire Blvd, Westwood.

They have signed a 10-year lease for the new building, and will take the top four floors – around 50,000 square feet.

Speaking to the LA Times, COO Armen Avedissian said: “We can’t wait to move. Just driving from Santa Monica to the 405 freeway right now is sometimes taking some employees from 45 minutes to one hour and 15 minutes to go 3 miles. It’s a waste of time.”

eHarmony have been at Santa Monica for five years, since moving from Pasadena.

The move will take place on July 20th, and will see 200 workers in the new space, with room for 300.

Avedissian also said their LA move was only viable because of tax breaks for internet companies based in the city, without which would have “wiped out the gain anyway in the economics of moving versus not moving.”
