Facebook Update Lets Users Talk Directly To Businesses Via Messenger
Facebook has just released an update to make it easier for its business users to communicate directly with customers.
The developments, made as part of its Businesses on Messenger service allows customers to contact businesses or follow-up on products directly through the platform, in a similar way to how they contact friends in a normal Messenger conversation.
This will effectively save customers from having to contact the company through its Facebook page, making the communication between supplier and consumer instant and interactive.
As part of the update, the network is also adding a location-based events integration to the Page plugin, to ensure users are kept up to date about a company’s upcoming events.
The plugin will allow users to view any changes made to an event by the company, and will inform people if any of their Facebook friends are going to the event.
Facebook’s Businesses on Messenger update was first announced at Facebook’s F8 Conference back in May, alongside other new features including Analytics for Apps, and enhanced plug-ins for embedded videos and comments.
In October, Facebook began rolling out yet another new feature to its Messenger platform, that allows users to send private message requests to anyone, using only their name.
The social media network launched the Message Request feature in an effort to help people get in touch with others without knowing the person’s phone number.
