Singapore-based dating app Paktor is helping its users celebrate this year’s Singles Day, by organising a number of treat to take place throughout the day.

Today, Paktor will give away roses provided by A Better Florist at a number of locations around Singapore, Taipei and Kuala Lumpur, in an effort to “share the love with all single people on Singles Day”.

The “Share the Love” giveaway locations include the Ngee Ann City, outside Raffles Place MRT Station, Alexandra Retail Centre, Changi City Point Shopping Mall and in the vicinity of Changi Business Park between 10am to 3pm.

The app will also be selecting four winners of its “Lunchtime Surprise”, who will be chosen between 11am and 1pm today.

To register, users are required to swipe right on Paktor’s Single’s Day profile card before 10am today.

Speaking about why the app is making Single’s Day an occasion in Singapore, Paktor CMO and co-founder Charlene Koh said: “Being single shouldn’t be a day that is only associated with online shopping or just a ‘phase in life’.

“If we can celebrate Valentine’s Day when you’re a couple, there is no reason not to have a great time on Single’s Day if you’re single. We want Paktor to bring that fun and excitement to people in Singapore.”

Paktor will be releasing a behind-the-scenes video of the day on its Facebook page and YouTube channel, which will be available from 6pm this evening.

The app currently has six million registered users, and generates up to 12 million matches each month.

Last month, Paktor launched an in-app fundraising campaign for breast cancer support, exceeding its campaign goal of raising USD $10,000 in one week.
