Tinder have just teamed up with Instagram to let singles add their Instagram feed to their dating profile.
This is part of Tinder’s latest update, which in addition to the Instagram integration, includes added common connection information and more shared interest details.
The big news however is the Instagram integration, which lets users connect their Instagram account to their profile, giving potential matches instant access to their 34 most recent photos.
Clicking the photos, as seen below, will directly bring up a user’s Instagram pics, without opening the app up separately.
A user’s Instagram feed appears just below the list of mutual connections on a profile.
In terms of privacy, Tinder said in a blog post they will not alter existing Instagram privacy settings or post any personal information to Instagram.
The new update, which was launched today, also gives you extra information about your matches – now showing if you have mutual friends, or friends-of-friends.
This move is perhaps a reaction to Hinge’s growing status, which only shows users friends-of-friends, and Tinder’s blog post includes a sly dig at the app:
“You won’t have common connections with every person on Tinder (that’d be super boring, wouldn’t it?), but when you do, we’ve got you covered.”
The idea is to give more information and context on who singles are speaking to, and the degrees of separation between the two.
The third update is that the Interests section has been expanded to display the full set of every user’s Facebook interests.
And those interests which are common between two people will be highlighted when singles browse their profile.
Tinder recently launched their first in-app advert, a video for a Bud Light party promotion.
