New Dating App Launches For Lovers Of Bacon
The seemingly never-ending conveyor belt of new dating niches has continued, with a new site for lovers of bacon.
Yesterday, Kraft-owned brand Oscar Mayer revealed its new dating app Sizzl, designed to match users based on their bacon preferences.
As its App Store listing says: “If you get hot thinking about how many hours your bacon’s been cured and naturally smoked, download Sizzl to connect with thousands of lovers who share your discriminating taste in the world’s loveliest meat.”
Like most dating platforms, the location-based app uses Facebook to gather basic profile information, which users can then customise on the app.
They are also required to disclose their bacon preferences in a personalised profile – “Pork? Turkey? Both? Crispy? Chewy? Burnt?” – and upload profile photos so they can start searching through profiles of nearby bacon lovers.
Users are then matched based on mutual interest, and of course their bacon compatibility.
Once matched, they are able to message within the bacon-themed app, and can then arrange to meet in person.
Speaking about the app, Eric Dahmer, Marketing Director at Oscar Mayer said: “In love, as it is in bacon, it’s important to be discerning when selecting your perfect match and to never settle for less than the best.
“We passionately cure our bacon for 12 hours, and lovingly smoke-house it for another 12, making it the true bacon for bacon lovers.
“With the launch of Sizzl, we’re thrilled to give our true bacon lovers the chance to find each other and potentially meet their soulmates, in life and in bacon.”
Sizzl is currently available for free download for iOS users with an iPhone.
