An online petition asking for pick up artist Julien Blanc to be banned from entering the UK has reached over 150,000 signatures.

Blanc has received criticism thanks to the aggressive tactics he teaches men in order to attract women.

These include methods such as choking women, isolating them from friends and other forms of emotional abuse.

He also started the hashtag #ChokingGirlsAroundtheWorld on Twitter, showing him choking women of different nationalities around the world.

He is due into the country on November 21st for a dating seminar, but a petition has been set up asking for Home Secretary Theresa May to ban him from visiting.

The petition says that “to allow this man into the UK legitimises sexual assault and predation, and sends a message that women are playthings or objects without agency.”

And in light of the controversy, a “domestic abuse chart” Blanc posted on Twitter has surfaced, detailing “how to make her stay”.

These include intimidation tactics, using emotional abuse, isolation, economic abuse and male privilege.

Regarding his imminent visit, crime minister Ms Featherstone said: “I am extremely concerned by the sexist and utterly abhorrent statements Julien Blanc has made about women.

“If he was allowed to perform in the UK I have no doubt that cases of sexual harassment and intimidation would increase.

“Free speech is obviously hugely important, but with free speech comes responsibility. It is not appropriate to talk about choking girls under any circumstances.”

Blanc’s visa was cancelled earlier in the year, when visiting Australia.
