eHarmony Uses Matchmaking Test To Find James Bond’s Perfect Match
Ahead of tonight’s release of the latest Bond film Spectre, dating site eHarmony.co.uk has put all Bond’s previous love interests through its matchmaking process, to find 007’s perfect match.
The dating site carried out a psychological study to find the best match for Bond, using the profiles of fifteen of the most popular Bond girls and a psychological analysis of Bond himself, all created by James Bond expert Brian Pendreigh.
eHarmony then scored each of the profiles using their 29 dimensions of compatibility, testing personality traits, social style, values and beliefs, and sense of humour.
The study found that the Bond girl most suited to 007 was Natalya Simonova of Goldeneye, played by actress Izabella Scorupco, due to her “calmness in dealing with tricky situations and her willingness to let Bond take the lead”.
According to the dating site, these attributes and her “warmth and capacity to care” make her the most compatible match for James Bond.
Taking second place in the compatibility test was Plenty O’Toole, played by Lana Wood in Diamonds Are Forever, with Anya Amasova from The Spy Who Loved Me securing third position.
Speaking about the results, film critic, author and Bond expert Brian Pendreigh said: “I think people will be quite surprised that Natalya came out as 007’s perfect match well ahead of a number of iconic Bond girls like Honey Ryder or Tracy.
“Though Natalya wasn’t one of the most famous Bond girls, she is smart, her heart is in the right place, and she would probably exert a calming influence on him — which is more than I can say the for second placed Plenty O’Toole!”
And surprisingly, the least compatible match was ‘Tracy’ de Vicenzo from On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, who is the only woman Bond has ever married.
Iconic Bond girls Pussy Galore from Goldfinger and Honey Ryder in Dr. No also finished in the bottom five, as a result of their conflicting character traits.
eHarmony.co.uk expert Jemima Wade added: “Finding someone you click with can be tough, even for the likes of James Bond. That’s why eHarmony uses 29 dimensions of compatibility to partner people on the stuff that counts, like your personality traits and values.
“So, whether you’re a secret agent or a Russian Level 2 Computer Programmer at the Space Weapons Control Centre like Natalya, we’ll find the right match for you.”
