Clocked Wants To Close Gap Between Hookups And Traditional Dating

A new London-based matchmaking app has launched to help bridge the gap between hook-up apps and more traditional dating services.

Clocked, the new dating platform for young professionals is keen to put a “meaning back into dating”, by targeting young people who want more than just a one-time meeting.

The app’s founder believe that existing dating apps focus too heavily on “superficial aspects without considering users compatibility”.

And it hopes to change this by becoming the first dating app to cross-reference users’ Facebook profiles with their iTunes data, in order to eliminate any fake or inappropriate profiles.

The app works by sending its users six compatible suggestions each day with one ‘clock’, which allows them to begina conversation with a match.

To save users from having to organise meeting places with their matches, Clocked will send date locations suggestions to its London based users.

The date spots will be selected and sent based on each user’s individual character, to help them arrange exciting dates that suit their personalities.

In terms of matching its users, Clocked worked with a team of psychologists to develop a series of questions about their user’s priorities and personalities that could then be used to match profiles.

The app uses these answers as part of an algorithm to both suggest an initial meeting for two users and generate successful matches.

Speaking about the app, its founder Ben Lambert said “Clocked is London’s first matchmaking app. We want to provide the best dating experience for people in London.

“Current users of standard dating sites are sick of wasting time, being flooded by fake profiles, trawling through people they have nothing in common with and not having time to find where the best date spots are in London. We want to change that.

“Our app will only suggest a profile if you both share interests or values, then gives you great date ideas and with the aim to get people dating.”

Users are required to pay £7.99 per month fee via the App Store in order to access the app’s full range of features.

However for a limited time only, Clocked is offering free lifetime subscriptions to its first London users. To get this, enter the promotion code “londonvip” when joining the app.

Clocked is now available to download on the App Store.
