Bumble Offers Virtual Dating Experiences With Airbnb

Bumble has collaborated with Airbnb to offer quarantined singles free virtual experiences to help them continue dating during the lockdown period.

The online holiday booking platform recently partnered with local organisations to launch numerous virtual experiences. It was designed for people to escape the realities of being stuck at home as well helping small businesses maintain some form of income.

Bumble will be giving 100 of its user the oppurtunity to take part in one of the unique activities for free.

They include wine-tasting in Portugal, attending a secret jazz club in Amsterdam and pasta-making classes in Florence.

Chelsea Cain Maclin, Vice President of Marketing at Bumble, told Adweek: “We hear from our users that they are interested in dating but honestly don’t know how to right now and feel that it is stressful and overwhelming. So, we’ve launched a suite of features, including this partnership with Airbnb, in order to help solve that for them.

“During the week ending on May 1, we saw about a 69% increase in video calls, and the average video call and phone call time was about 28 minutes.”

The collaboration officially kicks off today and users in the United States can enter until 28th May 28 by matching with the competition profile in the Bumble Date mode.
