Bumble’s New Texas HQ Receives UK Media Coverage
Dating platform Bumble’s new HQ in Austin, Texas has made UK headline news, with it being compared to a “Pinterest dream” for its bright colours, snazzy wallpapers, and neon lights.
The female orientated office does not have 9-5 working days, with flexible hours and different start times to allow for working mothers to balance their family lives and work commitments – as long as they get their work done, it doesn’t matter how late they arrive or early they leave.
Whitney Wolfe, Bumble’s founder, told Femail: “We provide free blowouts, hair trims, and manicures every other week to show appreciation for our busy bees.”
A ‘Mommy Bar’ private area for new mothers to breastfeed their babies is available and they are also given a £1,000 breast pump voucher after giving birth.
Wolfe commented on the ‘Mommy Bar’: “We’ve been known to have employee’s children frequent the office during team events, or when they’re simply under the weather.”
Over Christmas the employees are also allowed a remote-working week to allow them to work from home.
There is no dress code as founder, Whitney Wolfe told Femail: “I don’t believe there is a correlation between what you wear and how successful or how dedicated of an employee you are. What matters is what makes you feel comfortable and confident.”
The office also has a bar with kombucha and beer on tap, along with healthy, locally-sourced lunches for all employees to enjoy.
