Clara for Daters Releases Insights Report
Clara for Daters is a free-to-use digital platform providing post-match support for those seeking new connections. In its one-year review, the platform shares data-driven insights about dating trends and behaviours.
From the get-go, Clara for Daters wants people to know that it’s not a dating app. The platform offers support for daters once they’ve already found a match on a dating app, helping them document their experiences, reflect on their journey, and manage their mental wellbeing.
In its one-year review, the platform shares research that it has organically collected among its users from February 2023 to February 2024.
What are the findings?
Clara for Daters saw its user log over 1,000 dates with 817 prospective matches over the course of the year. 73% of the dates that were logged on the platform originated from dating apps, while 27% started “in the wild”.
Hinge, Bumble, and Tinder were the most popular dating platforms among Clara users, but Hinge was found to have the highest rate of producing first dates.
31% of all potential matches logged on Clara for Daters did not end up in an in-person meeting. This highlights the significant challenge of the initial conversion from an offline connection to an in-person meeting, the platform shared.
Of those who did meet with a match offline, 80% occurred at a venue, whereas 20% met at home. The majority of offline dates met for dinner or drinks at a local restaurant or bar, while 15% went for coffee. 13% enjoyed an outdoor activity together.
Clara for Daters shared that around 18% of social interactions ended in an intimate encounter.
What is Clara for Daters?
Many dating apps provide ‘digital introductions’ between two people, putting them in a chat together and leaving them to it. Clara for Daters is doing something different, providing support after the match during the real journey of going on dates.
The platform explains that “online introductions through dating apps may be effortless, but discerning whether a match truly aligns with your values and aspirations can still be a challenge for many”.
One of its core features is the ‘Clara Vibe Check’. This tool promotes self-awareness and asks daters to reflect on how their date went, helping them consider the 5 key pillars: chemistry, emotional safety, values, physical safety, and relational safety.
Looking ahead, the platform looks to continue supporting daters as they transition from online introductions to offline connections. This will ultimately create more meaningful relationships, and address the loneliness epidemic.
