Coffee Meets Bagel Suffers Multi-Day Outage

Dating platform Coffee Meets Bagel has suffered a multi-day outage, calling it a “major service disruption”. The site first went offline on August 27th 2023, with all of its 10 million sign-ups seeing an error screen.

Coffee Meets Bagel has been updating a service status page with developments, highlighting that it is making good progress and on track to return soon

The platform reassured readers that all users are experiencing the issue, so no one will be thinking that they are being ghosted by their match. It also said that once the issue has been sorted out, they will look at resolving subscriptions and boosts that have been affected.

The BBC highlights that Coffee Meets Bagel users have various worries due to the technical issue. Some were planning dates, that they’re now not able to organise. Others have resorted to finding their match on LinkedIn and other platforms in order to keep the conversation going.

One user wrote online “I really hope it’s not a hack”, highlighting that they had shared a copy of their passport when completing the platform’s verification process.

Coffee Meets Bagel was founded in 2011 by three sisters, and now has millions of users across the world.
