Danish TV 2 Airs ‘Faith, Hope and Tinder’

‘Tro, håb & Tinder’ (English: ‘Faith, Hope and Tinder’) is a new show airing on Danish television.

The series follows singles as they try to find love via various online dating platforms.

Episode one sees David, Mette, Thomas and Bettina use services such as Tinder, Happn, dating.dk, Instagram and Zoosk to land dates.

A camera follows them for up to three months as they try to meet a partner.

Dating apps have attracted parody, criticism and intrigue in popular culture, with a number of dating themed shows emerging in the past 18 months.

Fox’s ‘The Swipe is Right’ and YouTube series ‘SIDESWIPED’ are two comedic takes, while ‘The Grass is Always Grindr’ tackles mental health.

Charlie Brooker’s acclaimed tech dystopia Black Mirror focused one 2017 episode, ‘Hang the DJ’, on dating apps.

Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy aired ‘The Dating Game’, a satirical take on dating app addiction featuring a song entitled ‘Tinder Makes You Gross’.
