eharmony Teams Up with Love Island Star for UK Campaign

Love Island’s Laura Anderson has teamed up with eharmony for a new marketing campaign. The reality TV star plays the part of a flight attendant, directing passengers to watch an infomercial on the back of their seats.

The infomercial addresses singles, and suggests that they sign up to eharmony to find love this Valentine’s period.

Anderson gives dating tips throughout the video, such as advising eligibles to be confident and put their “best foot forward”.

The advert plays on the idea of “baggage” from previous relationships, before moving on to the “turbulence” of dating in 2019.

A splash screen at the end of the clip reads “Thank you for flying with us”.

The platform, recently acquired by Parship for $85 million, was challenged by UK officials last year over claims that its matching service was scientific.

A number of reality TV stars teamed up with dating sites in 2018, most notably when The Only Way Is Essex and Geordie Shore celebrities launched their own platforms.

Many of the sites are run in partnership with appMi, a company which looks to “build scalable dating platforms that allow Celebrities, Brands and Publishers to engage with their followers, customers or audience and create additional revenue.”
