Facebook Is Testing A Free Nearby Wi-Fi Finder

Facebook Nearby Wi-Fi

Facebook is testing a new feature that lets you hunt down the nearest free Wi-Fi spots.

Yesterday, it was noticed by The Next Web that Facebook had added an option in settings called “Enable Free Wi-Fi”.

The new feature lets users access information about where the nearest free Wi-Fi is, which business it is linked to, how to get there and how long it takes.

It seems like the new tool is currently being rolled out to users of the mobile app, who can access the feature by entering the settings area of the Facebook mobile app.

Facebook has also suggested that users should let the app access their location history, so it can build a better log of the locations they have been to.

In a statement, Facebook said: “To help people stay connected to the friends and experiences they care about, we are rolling out a new feature that surfaces open Wi-Fi networks associated with nearby places.”

It’s a useful little feature from Facebook, especially for people on the move looking for somewhere nearby to stop in and do some work.
