happn Launches New ‘Hub’ Feature
Dating platform happn launched a new dating space called ‘Hub’, which will allow users to have more control over the potential matches they come across.
The Hub space can be accessed on the happn app and is split into 4 sections.
The first section is called Discover and users will find lists of potential matches’ profiles that are certified, online, and newly registered.
The second section is for Play, where users can access the CrushTime game. The mini-game gives users the opportunity to guess who has liked them from 4 different profile photos that show up on-screen.
Explore is the third section, which displays the Map. This map system is where happn’s geolocation technology comes into play as the app will show potential matches that users have come across in real life. It has been upgraded to allow users to refine the map, seeing people who they come across most often and met most recently.
Finally, the Hub offers a Meet section where users can filter according to characteristics such as a profile’s passions and what they’re looking for romantically.
“We are constantly thinking about the evolution of the application, asking ourselves one question: how can we make it as close as possible to the ‘real life’ of singles? Crossing paths have always been the first answer: they find themselves on happn after having met on a street corner, in a bar, a restaurant… But it can’t stop there” explains Julie Prieur, Chief Product Officer at happn.
“The creation of this space is part of the new trends. It is now possible to take the time to explore profiles based on common interests, to seize a meeting opportunity based on more or less frequent crossings or to choose your future Crush based on a selection of criteria”, she added.
“The hub represents the plurality of desires, encounters and experiences. Human interactions are never binary, and happn now reflects all these possibilities. Our ambition is to give back to singles the control of their love life and to put human and social interactions at the heart of our concerns. And this is just the beginning of a year of innovation at happn” says Karima Ben Abdelmalek, CEO and President of happn.
“We are among the world leaders in the sector, and our unique concept makes us one of the nuggets of the French tech industry. Therefore, we intend to use all the ingredients that have made us successful to surprise users and offer them the best experience: as close as possible to their needs… and real life”, Adelmalek shared.
