As part of the partnership, Happn released a new option within its offline meetup feature See You There to enable singles to suggest meeting for a Coca-Cola.
Happn’s See You There feature works very simply: users click the (+) button at the bottom of the home screen and add which activities they are free to do from the app’s options, which are presented in bubbles.
The choices include activities like going for a drink, seeing a film and having dinner.
Once entered, this information appears on their timeline and can be viewed by the people they have already connected with.
And if one of their matches is interested in joining them on one of these dates, they simply click and send a message saying they are interested.
From the 3rd to 6th May, Happn added a red Coca-Cola icon to the feature, which let members tell other singles they were looking to “share a Coca-Cola”.
This was an addition to the drink company’s “Share a Coke” campaign, which was re-launched around the same period.
This isn’t the first time that Happn has partnered with a big name brand for its See You There feature.
In January it was announced that the app had run a similar campaign with Nescafé to bring singles together for coffee dates.
Earlier this year, it was also announced that Happn had officially launched a new AdServer, which will market both native and programmatic display formats.
The AdServer was originally tested in 2016 with brands like Nescafé and Sephora, and then soft launched in January 2017 with advertisers including Ikea, Coca-Cola and BMW.
