Hinge Daters Could Win $100 on National Day of Unplugging

Hinge is offering $100 Visa gift cards to users if they temporarily shut down their accounts and go out on a date, in celebration of the National Day of Unplugging.

The dating app has set aside $25,000 to be split between 250 users, which will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis.

To receive the reward, daters must pause their accounts for 24 hours from 4pm on 6th March, to 4pm on 7th March ET, during which time the date should take place.

After reactivating their accounts, users should click on their date’s profile to confirm they have met and visit unplugwithhinge.com to complete a form, which includes a space where they must describe their date.

The offer ends on 8th March 2020 and is only available to legal US residents with Hinge accounts.

Hinge has previously partnered with bars to offer daters discounts, but this will be the first time the company is handing out monetary rewards.

For last year’s National Day of Unplugging, the dating company offered free cocktails to users in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami and Chicago, who turned off their phones for 24 hours.
