Hinge Now Lets Users Add Video To Their Profiles
Hinge is launching a new feature today that lets users add video to their profiles.
Members of the relationship-orientated dating app can simply upload videos from their mobile’s Camera Roll, or from their Instagram or Facebook accounts.
When added, these videos will appear in a Hinge user’s Pinterest-style profile, taking the spot of a normal profile picture.
Other users are also able to like and post short comments on the videos.
According to the New York-based dating brand, profiles with videos get a 5x exposure boost.
The team created a short promo video for the release today, which uses the tagline: “Because your life isn’t static”.

The release comes a week after Match.com revealed it would be launching a Snapchat-style stories feature later this year.
The feature lets singles stitch together short video clips to form their own dating profile story, which is limited to 60 seconds, can be a mixture of photos and video, and can include a voiceover.
Mobile dating rival Bumble also announced a similar feature at the start of the year, called BumbleVID, which allowed users to collect a series of video clips into a thread, each clip disappearing after 24 hours.
In April, Hinge announced it would let users create a full profile on the dating app for free, after originally relaunching with a $7 subscription fee the year before.
