Instagram Adds Livestream Scheduling To Boost Awareness

Instagram has launched a new option to schedule upcoming livestreams, in an attempt to boost awareness and viewers. Streamers can schedule their livestream, with viewers able to tap through on a reminder notification to begin watching on the day of the broadcast.

Broadcasters will now be able to schedule an upcoming stream, up to 90 days in advance, from the live composer, which can include a title description, as well as product tags.

The option to schedule streams provides additional potential for both users and streamers alike, with users able to register for reminders, which will be sent through to them the day before the broadcast, and then again 15 minutes before the stream begins.

In addition to scheduling a livestream, Instagram has also announced a new Live practice option, which enables users to check their lighting, get used to the camera, and prepare for a livestream, without actually broadcasting.
