Instagram May Cut its Video Length Constraints

Instagram

The Wall Street Journal has announced that Instagram may cut its video length constraints.

Last week, The Wall Street Journal published a report about a new feature which would allow users to post longer clips of up to an hour.

The new feature will apparently “focus on vertical video” according to the Journal.

Instagram Stories are currently limited to a length of 15 seconds and videos in the main news feed can run up to 60 seconds.

Instagram Stories are already designed around the tall, vertical video format.

The report hasn’t clarified whether longer videos would be made within Stories or on the main feed.

Instagram has also apparently held discussions with potential partners (publishers and content creators) “in recent weeks” about the possibility of producing longer-form video.
