LOVOO Launches New Features to Help Community Connect From Home

LOVOO, The Meet Group subsidiary focused on the European market, has released a series of new updates to help users continue to connect during this difficult period.

Firstly, it introduced a feature called ‘Cherry Picks’ which connects people on shared interests and offers icebreaker topics. Each user answers 15 questions, such as “Are you a morning person?”, and “What’s your dream vacation?”, which will match them with other daters who gave similar responses.

Both parties are then able to see which questions they matched on so they can easily start a conversation based on their similar views.

It has also launched ‘LOVOO Live 4 Talents’, a campaign for artists in Europe to help them generate income while they are unable to perform live.

Selected musicians, comedians and dancers will receive a small fee for their first streaming session and are helped to build a loyal audience so they can continue to make money from virtual gifts.

CEO Florian Braunschweig said in a statement: “Due to the effects of Corona, artists worldwide are facing unparalleled challenges. We want to support them in this difficult situation and make sure that social events can still take place. We give freelancers and singles a platform to battle loneliness together and encourage each other.”

The initiative is similar to MeetMe’s ‘Live Aid Concert Series’ that is supporting struggling artists in the United States.

It has also upgraded its video product by releasing one-to-one calls to help users have meaningful conversations while they are stuck in lockdown. This also includes the NextDate game, where users have the opportunity to meet in a live stream and continue the conversation privately if there’s a connection.

More than one million users are engaging in video content every day, with 100,000 of these playing the NextDate game daily.

Other updates from LOVOO include the upcoming launch of its second podcast, following the success of its first show at the end of last year, and a new female coach to help male users with every aspect of their dating experience.
