Match Group and Univision Communications Inc. have today launched their Latino dating app, ‘Chispa’, on the App Store and Google Play.
Much like Tinder, the app will feature a simple, swipe-based interface and short profiles. Profiles will include a ‘roots’ feature, showing the ethnic origin of daters.
It is designed to serve an international, bilingual community, and will be available in both Spanish and English.
Partner Univision Communications Inc. is the leading media company serving Hispanic America. A press release states that their “strategic insights and expert knowledge informed the app”.
The media giant plans to leverage the “multiplatform assets across its portfolio” to help introduce the app to America’s Hispanic Community.
The US census estimates that there are 13 million single Hispanics nationwide.
