Shaadi.com has launched a new promotional campaign #WeddingsFromHome to couples continue to celebrate their love even they’re separated from their families.
The popular Indian matrimony platform is aiming to organise the entire wedding ceremony and celebrations virtually within the safety of people’s homes.
The ceremony would be streamed online so family and friends would be able to be virtually present for the nuptials.
Director of Marketing at Shaadi.com Adhish Zaveri told Financial Express: “At the root of its success are two critical factors. One, repurposing existing technology to drive discontinuous value and two, allowing people to celebrate their big day with as much fanfare, regardless of the lockdown.”
So far the platform has conducted one wedding in Ghaziabad, India, and is already planning another one in the next few weeks.
AdultFriendFinder also announced at the end of March that it was offering the technology to couples to have their weddings live streamed.
