MeetMe Hosts Virtual Concerts to Support Struggling Musicians
MeetMe has hosted the first of its ‘MeetMe Live Aid’ concerts, a series of virtual events to help raise money for struggling musicians.
The live gigs will be hosted every Thursday for four weeks, and will welcome new and emerging talented artists to its virtual stage in order to raise money.
The Meet Group subsidiary has also confirmed that all of its profits from the special ‘Golden Microphone’ gift portion is going to be donated to charities helping those affected by COVID-19.
Starting last night, the series will run until 14th May. Chris Casper, star of MeetMe Live’s Suited Up live show, will co-host the weekly, hour long performances beginning at 10:00pm ET.
The featured artists include Nina Diaz, Jarina De Marco, Katzu Oso, Sara King and many more.
The Meet Group has been updating its live streaming features over the past few weeks in response to global lockdown measures. It introduced video capabilities to GROWLr ahead of schedule and released a brand new speed dating game on Tagged.
CEO Geoff Cook appeared on the most recent episode of The GDI Podcast to discuss how the company is responding to the pandemic, and how the long-term future of the industry has been affected.
