More Tinder Users Can Display Interests With Expansion of ‘Passions’

Tinder has introduced ‘Passions’, a new feature designed to help daters show off what they’re interested in and better express themselves.

Users are offered a wide range of choices, from KPop to working out and from travel to Netflix. They can pick between three and five options to display on their profile and see what they have in common with their matches.

The available ‘Passions’ are a variety of hobbies and interests, so profiles have more information besides the standard bios.

A Tinder spokesperson said in a statement: “With Passions, we’re excited to give our members an easy way to connect with their potential matches by highlighting their interests.

“We hope that these will lead to more connections and spark conversations during a time when many of us are craving a change in routine and someone new to talk to.”

The feature has been tested in a small number of markets so far, in some regions it is simply known as ‘Interests’, but appears to be rolling out in more countries like India.

Tinder is currently broadcasting season one of ‘Swipe Night’ internationally, after the initial global launch was postponed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The show’s apocalyptic themes were deemed to be inappropriate during the height of the outbreak.
