Infidelity dating website Ashley Madison has produced a new television advert to show some of the experiences its female users have had via the service.
Cheating has always been an act that requires secrecy and anonymity, and Ashley Madison is associated with the image of a woman with one finger over her mouth. However, that has been dropped for this campaign as the spots tell true stories from real members.
The main 30-second video shows testimonials from four women, who are all portrayed by actors.
One woman explains: “Exploring relationships outside of my marriage has given me this new found excitement in my life. I didn’t realise how much I needed something like this for myself.”
The commercial is scheduled to run on the Paramount Network Channel until 11th May.
Recent statistics released by the company revealed that 5.3 million new accounts were created in 2018, taking the total number of members up to more than 60 million.
Premium accounts remain free for women. For every paid male user on the platform, there are 1.11 female profiles.
Ashley Madison created a public service announcement video in October, telling men the strict etiquette rules for sexting. It suggested that sending unsolicited sexual images early on is likely a major turn-off for women.
