OkCupid Engineering Manager & Bumble Sociologist to Appear at ‘Why’d You Push That Button’

OKC 2018 2
The podcast ‘Why’d You Push That Button?’ will have its very first live episode recorded and live-streamed from SXSW on March 9th (tomorrow) at 4pm CT (5pm ET).

The podcast has encouraged its listeners to come down and watch the live-stream at The Belmont (305 W 6th St) in downtown Austin, and to ask questions whilst they discuss different topics.

The episode will cover all the different ways technology can encourage people to ‘ghost’ on partners, dates, friends and roommates.

Reporter Kaitlyn Tiffany and author Ashley Carman will host the episode, and OkCupid engineering manager Jordan Guggenheim will join them.

He is apparently going to answer questions about what dating app designers think about human behaviour.

The questions will include “can they con us into treating each other kindly?” and “should they throw up their hands and let us break each other’s hearts?”

Dr Jess Carbino, the in-house sociologist at Bumble will also be there to answer questions about the human nature side of online dating.

The season two premiere of ‘Why’d You Push That Button?’ started on Tuesday.
