New data from measurement company Zenith has stated that next year, people around the world will spend more time online than they do watching TV.
In 2019, it has been predicted that people will spend an average of 170.6 minutes each day online, for example, sharing photos on Facebook or buying something on eBay.
However, people are expected to spend slightly less time watching TV and will spend an average of 170.3 minutes a day instead.
Last year, Zenith originally predicted that TV would still be more popular than online in 2019, but has since reviewed its current estimates.
The data also estimated that advertisers are expected to spend up to $60 billion more on internet than TV advertising as of next year.
Zenith has predicted that next year, mobile will be responsible for all growth in internet consumption and more than a quarter of all media consumption. This will include time spent reading magazines and newspapers and listening to the radio.
Online usage is expected to grow to 486.5 minutes per day next year.
However, in the U.S., internet usage is predicted not to take over from TV viewing until 2020, according to Zenith.
