Plenty of Fish Partners with Busch Light on Fishing Campaign
Dating app Plenty of Fish is partnering with brewery Anheuser-Busch on a new campaign to celebrate the activity of fishing. The dating app has released a new profile badge for fishing fanatics to display, with exclusive prizes going to a lucky few.
The launch of the dating app’s Fish Pic Badge comes just in time with the release of Busch Light’s limited edition Fishing Cans. The partnership looks to celebrate a shared love of fishing, whether you are casting lines in the great outdoors or in online dating.
Online daters holding fish in their profile photos have faced mockery in the past. However a Plenty of Fish survey of more than 12,000 US-based members found that nearly one quarter of respondents are more likely to message someone if their profile features a fish pic.
From March 5th to March 24th Plenty of Fish users, in the USA who are aged 21 or above, stand the chance to win a prize bundle from the brewery.
To get involved, the dating app users must submit a screenshot of their profile with the Fish Pic Badge, and those holding fish in their profile pictures will receive a second bonus entry.
“Our research reveals that the majority of singles (67%) enjoy fishing, and 70% would like to go fishing on a date,” said Shannon Smith, PR Director, Plenty of Fish.
“Our partnership with Busch Light and the launch of the Fish Pic Badge supports our brand ethos of being a more welcoming place to date, while also providing our outdoor-activity loving singles a chance to find meaningful connections over shared interests”, she added.
Anheuser-Busch is a well-known brewery which operates the brands Stella Artois, Budweiser and Bud Light, and more. Plenty of Fish is a dating app within Match Group, and is available in 11 languages in over 20 countries.
