The GDI Podcast: Positive Plus One Helps HIV Singles Feel More Comfortable When Dating

It’s often difficult to navigate the world of online dating for singles who are living with HIV, for example knowing when is the best time to reveal their condition to their matches.

Christian Mercer found this out when a close friend confided in him about the issues he was facing. Therefore, he set out to develop a brand new dating and social app so everyone can be open and upfront from the very beginning of a connection.

Positive Plus One was first launched in July and is working with a number of sexual health charities to ensure users are fully supported along their journey. In fact, the platform has committed to donating 10% of its profits to charitable causes.

The team is currently in the process of planning its second funding round, after recently raising £240,000 in its first.
