Tinder Begins Roll Out of ‘Explore’ Hub in English-Speaking Markets
Tinder has started the roll out process of its ‘Explore’ feature, a brand new virtual hub that gives users a different, more interactive online dating experience.
First announced in June, ‘Tinder Explore’ is a different way to navigate the app and access its variety of dating options. Here users can access all of Tinder’s social discovery experiences, different matching modes and swipe through profiles based on their interests.
Members in Australia and New Zealand had first access to Tinder Explore last month, with approximately 80% of active users giving it a go.
It was made available to users in all major English-speaking markets yesterday and should be released across the world by mid-October.
CEO Jim Lanzone explained in the announcement: “A new generation of daters is asking for more from us in the post-Covid world: more ways to have fun and interact with others virtually and more control over who they meet on Tinder.
“Today’s launch of Explore is a major step in creating a deeper, multi-dimensional, interactive experience for our members that expands the possibilities of Tinder as a platform.”
One of the new features that was introduced is ‘Hot Takes’, a new way to connect two users before they’ve matched. Each participant will get shown a topic before picking a multiple choice option that best suits their opinions. They can then see each other’s response and start a conversation.
Tinder Explore is a significant step on the app’s video roadmap, which now includes video calls, video profiles and the second season of ‘Swipe Night’, which is due to come out in November.
