Tinder Soft Launches Festival Mode in Australia

Tinder is preparing to launch its new Festival Mode in Australia, which would see Splendour in the Grass attendees able to add a badge to their dating profiles.

The feature was introduced elsewhere earlier this month. It gives singles the opportunity to connect with people who are going to the same music festival as them.

Tinder had initially partnered with eight events in the US and four in the UK. An official roll out across Australia is scheduled for 21st June, and will include more festivals and badges.

Splendour in the Grass, one of the biggest festivals in Australia, takes place on 19th – 21st July in Byron Bay, New South Wales. Headliners this year include Chance the Rapper, Tame Impala and Childish Gambino.

Country Manager Kristen Hardeman said to The Music: “Splendour is a rite of passage for young Australians, making it the perfect playground to launch Festival Mode.

“With this feature, we are redefining the festival experience by enabling our users to make new connections before even stepping through the turnstiles and pitching their tents. We’re pumped to be partnering with Splendour in the Grass and are excited to see how Tinder’s new feature helps people find their crowd this winter.”

While at the festival, singles will also have the opportunity to win free merchandise as well free VIP upgrades.

Juice WRLD and Charli XCX performed an exclusive concert for students at Fordham University in Massachusetts, after it was crowned the winning school in the second annual Swipe Off competition.
