Whitney Wolfe Herd, CEO and Founder of Bumble, has made a podcast appearance on The Tim Ferriss Show.

Tim Ferriss is a ‘self-experimenter’ and author, best known for the ‘4-hour’ series of books which includes “The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich”.

Other podcast guests have included actor, filmmaker and entrepreneur Joseph Gordon-Levitt, actor Terry Crews, and author and retired Navy SEAL Jocko Willink.

Wolfe Herd talks about the origin of Bumble and Andrey Andreev’s involvement, and also tells the story of how she settled on the name of the app.

Her initial dislike of the Bumble brand was overcome when she realised the marketing potential of ‘Queen bee’ and ‘find your honey’, she says.

Ferriss asks what Wolfe Herd sees as the best investment she ever made – she responds that building her team was the most important thing.

The first ten hires were what Wolfe Herd called her ‘culture warriors’ – she was open with these employees about her mission and the personal motivations behind it.

The episode runs for over 1 hour 15 minutes.
