Whitney Wolfe Herd, the newly-appointed CEO of MagicLab and Founder of Bumble, has offered up many tips for those looking to emulate her success.
Online publication The Richest has compiled a list of some of her top talking points, drawing quotes from a number of sources.
The entrepreneur makes the case that people should aim big and actively pursue their dreams. It’s important to push past negative opinions, which are likely to come quickly at new businesswomen.
She also argues that understanding basic human psychology is important when considering the online world.
She said in 2017: “I’d read a lot about the psychology around rejection and insecurity, and I had noticed that when people feel insecure or rejected, they behave aggressively, erratically. Especially when you can hide behind a screen name or a profile picture.”
Many of Wolfe Herd’s other comments fall in line with Bumble’s message of empowerment. She calls on others to be “be self-assured and true [to themselves]”, “make the first move” and “inspire one another”.
This past weekend, Yahoo suggested that Bumble’s successful campaign to outlaw unsolicited nude images in Texas may extend to regions of Australia.
“Malicious sexting” has been illegal in the state of Victoria since 2014 but, as it stands, the law targets something more akin to revenge porn than harassment.
