Zoosk Releases Dating Sunday Predictions

Zoosk, the mainstream dating brand recently acquired by Spark Networks, has released a set of predictions pertaining to Dating Sunday 2020.

Dating Sunday, the first Sunday following the New Year, is a peak time for singles seeking connections.

Zoosk anticipates 1.5 million messages will be sent in the US alone, with the busiest time coming at 9:30pm.

Zoosk CMO Luciana Telles explains: “Dating Sunday falls during a time period when singles are extra-motivated to look for online connections.

“It’s the first weekend after New Year’s Eve, which means that people have not only set themselves New Year’s resolutions, they’ve had a few days to think about how to put them into practice. Additionally, it’s about 6 weeks out from Valentine’s Day, meaning that singles who spark something on Jan 5 have plenty of time left to lock down a date for Feb 14.”

“Singles should also remember that, while Dating Sunday is traditionally Zoosk’s busiest day, member activity tends to stay higher than average right through Valentine’s Day.”

On Dating Sunday 2019, the number of ‘Smiles’, ‘Likes’ and messages sent all rose 15-20% on Zoosk.

Women were particularly active, sending 31% more Smiles and 25% more Likes via the platform.

Last month, Spark Networks appointed Eric Eichmann as CEO. He takes over from Jeronimo Folgueira, who had held the post since October 2015.
