Dateability Launches Version 2.0 With Expanded Accessibility and Growth Plans
Dateability, the dating app created for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, has rolled out Version 2.0 alongside a range of core improvements. The update introduces stronger accessibility features, a redesigned interface, and technical improvements that prepare the platform for both larger-scale use and international expansion.
The Denver-based app was founded in 2022 by sisters Jacqueline and Alexa Child after Jacqueline encountered barriers and discrimination on mainstream dating platforms. Their goal was to create a safe space for individuals who often face exclusion in digital dating. “When Jacqueline became disabled due to chronic illness, we wanted to create a safe, inclusive and accessible space where people with physical, intellectual and psychiatric disabilities can form real connections,” the founders said in a joint statement.
The Version 2.0 release includes enhanced screen-reader compatibility and a rebuilt infrastructure designed to handle broader adoption. With more than one in four U.S. adults reporting a disability, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the platform is positioning itself to serve a much larger share of the population. Dateability says its technical foundation now allows for scaling beyond North America, with global growth part of its future strategy.
Since its launch, the platform has expanded its presence in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the U.K., while growing its user base tenfold. The company notes it will soon celebrate its first “Dateability Wedding” in February 2026, reflecting the role the app has already played in forming lasting partnerships.
Industry observers suggest the update signals broader changes within online dating, where accessibility is increasingly becoming an expectation rather than a feature. Advocates also see the app’s progress as part of a wider cultural shift toward recognizing the relationship needs of people with disabilities.
With Version 2.0 now available on iOS and Android, Dateability aims to strengthen its position as the leading platform dedicated to inclusive dating while continuing to expand its reach to new markets.
