Dinky One Introduces AI Moderation to Tackle Nudity Overexposure
Dinky One, the world’s largest dating site for men with smaller-than-average penises and their admirers, has rolled out AI-powered nudity moderation. Known for promoting body positivity and acceptance, the platform faced an unexpected surge of explicit content from enthusiastic members eager to showcase their uniqueness to a platform full of admirers.
Founder David Minns explained the situation humorously, noting the strain on human moderators trying to manage the overwhelming volume of explicit uploads. To address this, Dinky One implemented an advanced AI system capable of identifying and filtering nudity in both profile photos and live chat uploads.
The new system automatically flags and rejects inappropriate images from profiles, reminding users to keep their creativity PG-rated. In live chats, explicit photos are blurred instantly to prevent unwanted surprises. This ensures that communication remains respectful while allowing moderators to focus on improving the platform, although users obviously have the option to unblur them if they choose.
Developed with open-source tools and supported by OpenAI’s technology, the system is meant to be a quick and easy way to ensure that the platform isn’t overflowing with explicity images within a few months. While Dinky One has a somewhat risqué gimmick, Minns still wants the site to be functional and usable – and the nature of Dinky One means that users would be far more active to share explicit pictures if moderation wasn’t a factor.
