QuackQuack Releases 2025 Indian Dating Trends Report

New insights from QuackQuack, India’s leading dating app, have revealed some new dating trends based on its largely Indian userbase. Revealed in a private press release, the report was based on a survey of 12,000 users aged 18 to 35 from Tier 1, 2, and 3 cities – reveals a variety of emerging trends reshaping online dating dynamics.

Friendship First
Over 24% of users are prioritizing friendship in their dating profiles. With a “FriendZone” approach, daters are seeking low-pressure, platonic connections that may evolve into romance organically. This trend reflects a shift from the traditional rush to romantic commitment. Users want genuine, meaningful connections without the immediate pressure of defining them romantically.

Reviving Old Matches
The concept of “Rematching” has gained traction, with 13% of users reconnecting with past matches. Daters are giving themselves and others a second chance, embracing the idea that timing plays a crucial role in forming connections. The initial spark might get lost, but rematching lets them rekindle conversations when the moment feels right.”

Mard 2.0: Redefining Masculinity
A growing number of men, nearly 38% between ages 25 and 35, are challenging traditional notions of masculinity. The “Mard 2.0” trend celebrates emotional availability, vulnerability, and prioritizing mental health.

#BetterThanSharmaJiKaBeta
Humor meets confidence with this quirky trend, where 17% of men use the hashtag to playfully showcase their achievements. Whether it’s academic accolades or unique talents, it’s a clever way to break stereotypes and highlight individuality without appearing boastful.

Sharmaji ka beta is a phrase normally associated with parents comparing their child’s accomplishments to somebody else who’s more successful, but this new trend has allowed them to turn it into an excuse to show off without judgement.

While these may be specific trends for QuackQuack’s well-defined audience, similar habits are likely to crop up in other markets as well. 2024 saw many changes in how users like to approach dating – and relationships in general – and 2025 may become a major year of change for the dating industry as a whole.
